Admiral Instruments Booths at International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) & 2026 Texas Section ECS Symposium.

The Admiral Instruments team has been busy on the road, connecting with researchers, students, engineers, and industry professionals at several recent events and research visits across Australia and the United States.

International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE)

In September, our Co-Founder and President, Mark Sholin represented Admiral Instruments at the 77th Annual Conference of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), held at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) in Darling Harbour, Australia from September 6–11.

The five-day conference brought together approximately 1,000 attendees, with academics traveling from all over the world to take part in the event. The conference was pretty much exclusively academia, with little industry presence beyond the exhibitors, making it a great opportunity to connect directly with researchers and learn more about the latest work happening across the electrochemistry community.

We shared a booth with Zahner and ScienceGears, with Mark Sholin, Co-Founder and President of Admiral Instruments, joining Felix Hiege, Zahner representative, and Siva Arumugam, ScienceGears representative, to showcase our  Squidstat Plus potentiostat and Squidstat Cycler - Base Model and connect with researchers.

Now in its 77th  year, the ISE Annual Conference is a long-running event that highlights the strength and longevity of the international electrochemistry research community. With 25 exhibitors, the conference provided plenty of opportunities to engage with researchers and learn about their work, instrumentation needs, and potential applications for electrochemical testing solutions.

2026 Texas Section ECS Symposium (ECS) & Greentown Labs Houston

We later headed to Texas, where our Senior Applications Engineer, Vlad Sasaran, attended a packed week of events, campus visits, and conversations with the electrochemistry & green tech community. The trip included the ClimateTech Summit 2026 at Greentown Labs, the University of Houston, NASA Johnson Space Center, and the Electrochemical Society (ECS) Texas Section Symposium at Texas Tech University from September 16-20, along with some research labs.

Vlad enjoyed catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people, and hearing about the work happening across clean energy, space technology, and electrochemical research. He performed many live experiment demonstrations with the compact Squidstat Plus potentiostat at various research labs around Texas. The whole setup of the high current Squidstat Venta potentiostat (20 A and EIS up to 2 MHz capability) fits into his backpack!

Much of the trip came down to solid conversations with researchers, startup founders, students, scientists and engineers. Each discussion was a chance to learn something new about the projects happening across the community.

Did You Miss Us at ISE & ECS?

One of our favorite parts of these events was the opportunity to connect with people. Whether catching up with familiar faces or meeting researchers for the first time, every conversation brought a chance to learn something new and hear about the exciting work happening across the electrochemistry, energy storage, clean technology and battery research community.

If you didn’t get a chance to see us at ISE & ECS, hopefully we’ll catch you at a future conference. Check out our exhibition schedule using the link below to find out where the Admiral Instruments team will be next. Stop by our booth, we’d love to show you our instruments in action and even share a Squidstat Solvers Series Squid figurine with you!

Highlights from Latest ISE, ECS, Greentown Labs Houston Events & NASA Visit

Sep 6-11 / International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) 2026 - Sydney, Australia Over the course of the conference, Mark met with around 50 people at the booth and gave away many Squidstat Solvers. Much of the conference came down to solid conversations with researchers and students, with each discussion providing a chance to learn something new about the projects happening across the community.

Exploring Sydney

Outside of the conference, Mark also had the opportunity to explore Sydney, including visits to the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, along with several other beautiful locations around the city. It was a great trip both professionally and personally, and we look forward to continuing the conversations that started in Sydney.

Sep 16 2026 / Greentown Labs Houston 2026 - Texas

Hundreds of attendees filled the multiple events happening around Houston, with sessions and activities covering clean energy, nuclear, AI, lightning pitches, spotlights, a startup showcase and an organized pitch competition with valuable prizes. A true whirlwind of action. Reconnected with familiar faces and met new people, heard new stories and new dreams of making the world a better place. Every conversation was an opportunity to learn that in the end, we’re all pulling together in the same direction.

Sep 17 2026 / University of Houston - Texas

A campus visit full of electrochemistry discussions and great conversations. EIS, accessibility, teaching, education and placards warning of alligators. Apparently alligators are not an uncommon sighting on the campus. Who needs coffee when an alligator could be around the corner?

Sep 17 2026 / NASA Johnson Space Center & Research Labs – Houston, Texas

Most likely everyone wants to visit NASA at least once, right? Inspiring and borderline unbelievable to see how engineers and scientists built the hardware to get into space and on the Moon. Around 640 humans have actually gone into Earth orbit during around 330 orbital missions. Saw the Apollo Mission Operations Control Room, met researchers, and visited some research labs. Unfortunately, no aliens & no magic, it’s all hard work by brilliant people.

Sep 19–20 / 2026 ECS Texas Section Symposium – Lubbock, Texas

Wonderful opportunity to sponsor the event and support young electrochemists in their journey. The students organizing the event were on point with everything, it was smoother and better organized than many million-dollar events. Vlad introduced attendees to the Squidstat potentiostats and cyclers, performed live experiments such as Cyclic Voltammetry, Linear Sweeps, Galvanostatic EIS and Charge/Discharge Cycling. Not a single second was wasted, great talks from various academics, social activities, fantastic food, Kahoot and a poster competition.

Warm Houston Welcome

The trip started at a Houston hotel with a giant wooden sculpture of the U.S. flag in the lobby, a warm welcome to Texas. The artsy touch set the tone for a fun & full of hope week. It was a small detail, but a memorable way to kick things off before a packed schedule.
